The Story of the Wise Men: A Book Review

The Story of the Wise Men by Patricia A. Pingry is a little board book, safe for babies to hold and perfect for toddlers that tells the story of how the wise men studied and followed the star to finally reach Jesus.

The colors, the art, and the simplicity of this book are wonderful and will make a great gift or addition to your bookshelf this Christmas season.

My favorite thing about this book was its art depicting actual scripture.

10 "When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.

11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh." Matthew 2:10-11 NIV

Reviewing this book began a discussion in our family, about the wise men's spiritual beliefs since the book even addresses their exit choice; having received a dream as a warning, they did not go back to Herod afterward. Our family concluded they must have had a mustard-sized seed of faith to follow the supernatural star, travel for miles, and heed this dream.

Thank you Hachette Book Group for sending me a copy of The Story of the Wise Men to review. These words are my own, voluntarily shared. I love recommending books of interest.
